The Green Airliner Singapore appoints Franck Scherer as Partner and Executive Vice-President

The Green Airliner Singapore (TGAS), has hired seasoned veteran in the aeronautical industry Franck Scherer as its Partner and Executive Vice-President.

Mr. Scherer, who joined on 1 October, was most recently the Chief Executive Officer of Safran Electronics Asia. He will be responsible for growing TGAS into a leading and recognized aeronautical asset management company in Asia.

Mr. Scherer said: “I am greatly looking forward to bringing innovative solutions to airline companies in Asia in terms of aircraft component access and management. The aeronautical industry is becoming more challenging today in terms of cash flow management and aircraft dispatch reliability. Companies need to source for, and review assets and their value before investing. Our leading expertise in asset management, business development and project financing will contribute to our customers’ continuous business improvement.

Francois Dubrulle, Director of The Green Airliner in Singapore said: “Franck is a highly respected industry veteran in this region with nearly 20 years of industry experience. We are very pleased to have him on board, and believe he will be instrumental in growing our business in Asia as we take off on our journey to provide financial and operational solutions of the highest standards to large commercial aircraft owners and MROs.”

Before his appointment at TGAS, Mr. Scherer had spent 15 years in Safran Group, out of which 10 years were spent in Singapore.

As the former Chief Executive Officer of Safran Electronics Asia, Mr. Scherer was instrumental in the transformation of the company into a joint venture between SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) and SAGEM in 2010, turning it into the Asia-Pacific Avionics MRO leader.

Prior to that, Mr. Scherer was Vice-President, Support & Repair of Safran Electronics Division from 2009 to 2011. As a member of Safran Electronics Division executive committee, he was responsible for setting up and managing the support & repair organization, by consolidating the worldwide repair network of the division.

In 2005, he was appointed Managing Director of Messier-Bugatti Systems Pte Ltd (Singapore), leading the Asia-Pacific Messier-Bugatti center in marketing & sales, part distribution, technical support, as well as MRO activities for Messier-Bugatti Monitoring Systems and Technofan equipment. During this time, Mr. Scherer successfully set up the company’s first worldwide avionics repair shop in Singapore.
